I started getting phone calls form a guy who spoke very poor english, telling me he needed information so they could release a package to me at UPS. It sounded fishy so I asked where he was calling from and he said Las Vegas. I told his this was bullshit and hung up.
I was curious however and checked the area code of his number and it was in Jamaica. While I was looking up the area code online I also found out that Jamaica is rapidly becoming the hub of phone scams perpetrated in the U.S. At this site there were hundreds and hundreds of phone numbers and people had reported the calls from them and the types of scams they were trying to pull.
Now phone scams I can deal with… and how people in an impoverished country might find it easier to try and steal from me than actually find a job… that I comprehend as well. What irritates me the most is that the morons are so stoned that they forget they have already called me apparently and call me every day to ask “How are you tonight?”.
(Apparently the dope they smoke also makes it impossible to figure out time zones becasue they usually as that question during the day. )

Anyway, they call to let me know about my package at UPS and I tell them I am not coming to Jamaica to pick up a package and they can go F%@K themselves and don’t call me again, etc, etc. And the next day there they are asking how I am doing.
Anayway I’d suggest you check out he site and Google for 876 scams as some of them seem to be a little more organized, and just returning a call to find out what they want can cost a bundle at internatioal phone rates.
